Course Websites

The Applied Studies Bachelor’s Completion Program uses the Blackboard Learning Management System (Bb). Every student enrolled in an APS course have a portal with links to their course websites.

The Bb course website allows students to access the syllabus and course documents, turn in assignments, participate in discussion forums, communicate with their instructor and other students, work in groups and view their grades.

Bb can be accessed with a PC or a Mac.

Bb works best with any one of the following browsers:
Firefox 1.0 or better
Safari 1.2 or better (for Mac)
Netscape 7 or better
Mozilla 1.5 or better
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or better

If you have an outdated browser or use a browser not supported by Bb, you will need to upgrade or change browsers (there may be browsers we have not listed which are perfectly compatible with Bb).

Note: Bb does not support any of the current AOL browsers. While you may continue to connect to the internet with AOL, we strongly urge you NOT to use the AOL browser for Bb. Instead, we recommend you use one of the choices above.

You will need a username and password to log into Bb. To learn your Bb username go to toroWeb, scroll down and click on “Login to toroWeb”. Your username for toroWeb is your 9 digit student ID number. Your PIN is your date of birth (mmddyy), i.e. February 15, 1975 would be 021575.

When you login to toroWeb and click on “Look up Luminis/Blackboard Username” you will see your Blackboard username.

Go to http://toro.csudh.edu and click on the login button in the upper left corner. Your username will be the name you found on toroWeb. Your password will be the same as the PIN you used to access toroWeb.

If your username and password do not work, try a second and third time. Sometimes Blackboard needs more than one login to authenticate the user.

When you reach your Bb portal (Welcome “your first name”) and click on the Courses tab at the top of the page, you will find links to the websites for all of your courses.

If you cannot log on to Bb, click here and fill out the form that appears on your screen.

It will take 48 hours after you register and pay your fees for the database to update your information and give you access to Bb.
